The Northeast STEM Starter Academy at Mt. Vernon hopes all is well with you and your family. As we enjoy the holiday season, we wish you and your family the best!

The NSSA is participating in Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, a day centered on encouraging generosity and kindness. We’re asking friends and future friends to contribute to our continuing delivery of meaningful STEM educational learning opportunities to our students attending public schools in Mt. Vernon and the surrounding communities.

The prior ten years have provided meaningful evidence that encourages our commitment to helping students overcome the disparate educational and life outcomes that challenge our community. Our educational campaigns are centered on providing access to high-quality STEM learning experiences for elementary school, junior high, and high school students.

We require the resources to deliver high-value STEM-centered educational programs to build the futures that every young person deserves and needs to succeed. The support we have received over the last 10 years has allowed us to deliver over 90 different after-school, weekend, and summer STEM programs to more than 3,500 students. We also provide volunteer opportunities and employ students who have attended past NSSA STEM programs and are currently pursuing a college degree.

BE THE CHANGE

Above all, we’re working to continue and expand our programmatic efforts and secure a home on the ground, the NSSA Science and Technology Center, that would allow us to expand our programmatic campaign and help lift the community. The NSSA has never charged our students to attend our programs and never will!

We hope you’ll support the NSSA at Mt. Vernon on Giving Tuesday; donations are 100% tax-deductible. With your support, we can and will continue to see uplifting change for students, our community, and the surrounding communities. Please help us make 2024’s Giving Tuesday a success for those we stand with and for; thank you!

Thank you. Have a wonderful Holiday Season!

Looking Forward

The Center: Together We Can Change the Trajectory for an Entire Community.

We Have the Vision.

Help Us Make It a Reality.

Research indicates that technology and science centers have a positive educational impact on the children of the community and the community in general. Additionally, they can improve the economics and culture of the community and the surrounding communities. The NSSA at Mt. Vernon will offer a host of interactive exhibits, a planetarium, various laboratories, and a broad range of student-based programs directly aligned with the Board of Education curriculum, internships, and other opportunities to prepare youth for four-year colleges and meaningful careers.

This hands-on educational resource will reflect the NSSA’s commitment to and support of the community. The center will feature a broad collection of interactive technology and science exhibits, many of which are aligned with and made possible through the support and guidance of local and national corporate partnerships.

The center will partner with public school leadership to ensure that at-risk students have access to state-of-the-art science and technology resources that prepare them for careers as teachers, scientists, computer technologists, doctors, and engineers.

Funding: All capital to fund the construction is audited by an independent major accounting firm, and audits are made publicly available. The initial fundraising goal is $5 million.
